Project ICON 72

Newman Stacey Design are developing a 72m design which utilises Icon’s optimised hull platform.  It was our desire to take the platform and create a timeless design which was dynamic in form and elegant in its simplicity with crisp contemporary detailing.

In order to achieve this we have emphasised the horizontal lines, which has the effect of visually lengthening the vessel. The relationship between the clean sheer line and the carefully proportioned superstructure creates a refined, well balanced and graceful profile. The louvre fins that neatly extend from the superstructure aft are not only an important addition to the architectural language of the vessel but also provide a unique living space. This space has the benefit of combining the protection of an interior with the freedom of exterior living, thus successfully creating a seamless threshold between the two.

Conceived for a client with an exacting brief, internally the yacht has been designed to make the most of the fabulous views aboard. Large expanses of glass afford panoramic views from all guest areas culminating in a generous Owner’s suite forward on the Upper Deck. Locating the Owner here also provides the opportunity for exclusive privacy on the top two decks should this be required. The interior has been developed to accommodate maximum flexibility in all guest areas, thus increasing the appeal to charter guests.
